Hungry Eyes Fill Your Stomach

Have you ever been to an all you can eat buffet and gone back to your seat with a pile of food on your plate. Before you take that first bite you are so excited to dig in you can hardly contain yourself. Your eyes are making your mouth water over the food that you have brought back to the table.

Before you get half way through your plate of food you start to feel full. Not to the point of unbuttoning the top button of your pants, but you’re getting there, but it’s all you can eat, so you have to keep going. You eat the rest of what is on your plate. Maybe you go back up for dessert and all of a sudden you can hardly walk out of the restaurant.

A bread plate may not seem like much and truth be told it’s not, but if you’re still hungry after cleaning your bread plate of food, you can always go back for more.

Tricking your eyes into thinking there is more food on the plate then there really is is the best way to avoid overeating. We eat with our eyes first and if our eyes see that the plate is full, no matter how big or small the plate is, we are more likely to eat just what is on the plate and call it a day.

Extend your arms straight out in front of you, interlocking your fingers. Contract your abdominals and lean back about forty-five degrees. Holding the contraction, rotate your torso as far to one side as you are comfortably able.

Use your abdominals to control this motion so that your upper body moves at once, do not lead with your arms. Remember to keep your arms in from of you with fingers locked– pretend you are aiming an imaginary gun. Once you have rotated as far as you feel comfortable, rotate back to center, then to the other side. Repeat these steps for an entire set. Take care to go slow and keep a controlled movement. I know that you want to lose your belly and some of the other extra pounds of flesh that has been hanging loosely all around your body. I have got to tell you that one of the best ways to lose stomach fat is to avoid the following five things.

1. Avoid starving yourself. Many people want to slash their food intake to next too nothing. All this does is to cause the body to save the calories rather than burning them. If your body is not burning calories then it is burning muscle or at the very least breaking them down and that is not a good thing. 2. Avoid eating so fast. This is one of my biggest problems because when I eat I woof it down as fast as I can. This causes a problem because my stomach gets way too full before my brain says stop eating. I am usually done ten to fifteen minutes before my wife because she talks in between mouthfuls. I, of course, listen as I eat and eat. (Okay, so I pretend to listen). Bottom line is that if you slow down when you eat you will actually eat less and that is a good thing.

3. Avoid eating processed food. Well, maybe not all together but for sure you probably need to cut back on all the store bought processed bread and cereal. You definitely need to have fiber in your diet and these processed foods have very little. Try some of the whole-grained breads and cereals along with wheat spaghetti and noodles. They actually taste pretty good and they will help you lose stomach fat.

4. Avoid all nighters. Do your best to get a full eight hours of sleep a night. Once you get into the habit it gets much easier. The same routine is important for you. I have learned that if I get up at the same time every morning and go to bed at the same time I have a much better day not only in the gym but also at work. It is a proven fact that the less sleep you get the higher insulin and glucose in your blood making for lousy metabolism for burning off the stomach fat.

5. Avoid too little water. I know that the avoid idea on this one is a stretch but it had to match the other four. You should be drinking at least 64 ounces of water each and every day. This should take place regardless if you are exercising that day or not. You need the water to flush your system of all the toxins and other trash you will find as your workouts break down the fat and your metabolism burns those unwanted calories. Water also helps you to digest the food you ingest and carries the nutrients to your muscles. Hey if your urine is a dark yellow you are not getting enough water you want it to be very very light yellow and clear is better.

So the bottom line is the best way to lose stomach fat is to avoid the things listed above and to put together a good nutritional and exercise program that helps you to lose that awful belly fat.
