Secrets of Natural Healthy Skin Care That Will Make You Young Again!
June 3, 2010 – 9:05 pm
A Natural and Healthy skin care regime can do a lot to give you the most desired young skin. These days there is a lot of concern on the issue of synthetic skin care products that use harsh chemicals. I will tell you that healthy skin care does not necessarily need to use such harmful ingredients.
There are many products available in the market these days that put up labels saying that they are “natural” and also “organic”. While they may contain some natural ingredients, but they are in very minute quantities and apart from that, they don’t even mention the names of the harmful chemicals that they are using in their so called “healthy skin care product”.
These sorts of tactics played by the cosmetic skin care companies to boost their sales are unacceptable and unethical. Such products do not give healthy skin, but on the contrary lead to allergies and skin problems many cases.
Let us look at some of the harmful substances that are put in these so called “healthy skin care” products that you need to be especially watchful for.
1) Parabens- They have a long shelf life and find their use mainly as preservatives in skin care products. A longer shelf life means higher profits and lower storage costs for the manufacturer, but it is definitely harmful for your healthy skin.
A high quality natural healthy skin care product should not contain such harmful substances. You shall be surprised to know that parabens have been scientifically known to cause distruptions in the estrogen levels in females.
2) Fragrances- These are the second culprits. The word fragrances sounds good, but when these fragraces are created by chemical processes then it becomes poisonous for our healthy skin care. Long time ago fragrances used to be made out of natural flowers, but now that is a thing of the past.
Chemically created fragrances cause skin allergies, rashes and do more harm to skin than any good. A quality healthy skin care product must not use such artificially created fragrances.
And you would also find it useful to strictly avoid such so called “natural healthy skin care” products that have these ingredients in them:
· Dioxane
· Mineral Oil
· Parabens
· Toluene
· Nitrosamines
· Phenol Carbolic Acid
· DEA, MEA and TEA. Here the terms M, D and T stand for Mono, Di and Tri. So the names to safeguard against are Monoethanolamine, Diethanolamine and Triethanolamine.
There are also many other harmful chemical ingredients. But these were the most commonly found names. The degree of harm they cause to healthy skin varies from individual to individual. They especially do a lot of damage to naturally sensitive skin persons.
As a part of healthy skin care, it would be incomplete to not mention the use of vitamins. As important it is to prevent healthy skin from carcinogens and harmful ingredients, equally important it is to provide it with the most soothing and nourishing natural ingredients which are lush in their natural vitamin and mineral content.
I would like to mention the name of Phytessence Wakame which is a part of my healthy skin care regimen. It is a special type of Japanese sea kelp. And its wonder lies in the fact that it is rich in Vitamin B complex (B1, B2, B3, B6, B12) and also in calcium, potassium and iron.
After knowing its highly effective qualities in skin anti aging, its extracts are used in elite skin creams. It is also quite effective in maintaining skin moisture, anti inflammatory and skin elasticity.
I have covered a great deal of research on my website on such natural substances that play a pivotal role in healthy skin and can highly boost your skin youth if they form a part of your regimen.

How to Choose a Safe Diet Pill
May 28, 2010 – 8:39 pm
Overweight and severely obese individuals have enough to be concerned with due to the health problems their extra body fat creates. They are at risk for diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, hypothyroidism, high cholesterol and heart disease as a result of their obesity. Add in an unhealthy mix of diet pill ingredients and they get a host of other problems to worry about.
Not all diet pill and supplements are the same. There are many types of diet pills on the market, both prescription and over-the-counter. Herbal Diet pills are not regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This presents a problem for consumers interested in losing weight. It’s impossible for dieters to know which weight loss products are safe and which ones they need to avoid because of possibly harmful side effects.
You should also be alert for fake diet pills. Hoodia is one diet supplement that is replicated and cut with sawdust and other products. It is sold as a counterfeit version of the real product. As many as 66 percent of the Hoodia diet pills sold in the U.S. contain no Hoodia at all.
Tips for choosing a Diet Pill (and Avoiding the Scams):
1. Look for diet pills that contain all natural ingredients.
2. Watch out for imitation products. Extremely low prices for a normally expensive weight loss product are inviting, but the cheap pills could be cut with other ingredients or not contain any of the ingredients they claim to have.
3. Do your homework on diet pills and supplements. Read scientific studies so you know what you are putting in your body is safe.
4. Only buy diet pills from manufacturers who offer a money-back guarantee. If a company is so sure their product is safe and effective, they will have no problem offering this guarantee.
5. Only buy diet pills and weight loss products from reputable manufacturers.
6. Be aware of potentially dangerous side effects associated with some diet pill ingredients. Follow the instructions carefully and do not exceed the limit on the packaging in an effort to speed up your weight loss.
7. Look over the testimonials of others who have used the diet pill. Read online reviews by trusted experts. What are people saying about the diet pills? Don’t take a company’s own advertising as proof that a weight loss product works well.
Losing body fat takes a lot of effort. Fat doesn’t disappear easily, even with the help of weight loss pills. It takes a comprehensive weight loss program to rid the body of extra fat. Remember that healthy weight loss is between one and two pounds a week. Faster weight loss is possible, but it is not a healthy way to lose weight. It is more likely to leave you with hanging skin, and it makes you more susceptible to regaining the weight.
Diet pills can be an effective way to achieve quick weight loss when you choose wisely and pair them with a healthy diet and daily exercise. Weight loss pills are not as effective when they stand alone as your only weapon in the weight loss battle.

The Best Way to Lose Stomach Fat is to Avoid These Things
January 4, 2010 – 8:59 am
I know that you want to lose your belly and some of the other extra pounds of flesh that has been hanging loosely all around your body. I have got to tell you that one of the best ways to lose stomach fat is to avoid the following five things.
1. Avoid starving yourself. Many people want to slash their food intake to next too nothing. All this does is to cause the body to save the calories rather than burning them. If your body is not burning calories then it is burning muscle or at the very least breaking them down and that is not a good thing. It really is not how much you weigh as much as it is about having less body fat and more muscle mass. The more muscle you have the faster you metabolism works and the more calories you burn and the more you lose stomach fat.
2. Avoid eating so fast. This is one of my biggest problems because when I eat I woof it down as fast as I can. This causes a problem because my stomach gets way too full before my brain says stop eating. I am usually done ten to fifteen minutes before my wife because she talks in between mouthfuls. I, of course, listen as I eat and eat. (Okay, so I pretend to listen). Bottom line is that if you slow down when you eat you will actually eat less and that is a good thing.
3. Avoid eating processed food. Well, maybe not all together but for sure you probably need to cut back on all the store bought processed bread and cereal. You definitely need to have fiber in your diet and these processed foods have very little. Try some of the whole-grained breads and cereals along with wheat spaghetti and noodles. They actually taste pretty good and they will help you lose stomach fat.
4. Avoid all nighters. Do your best to get a full eight hours of sleep a night. Once you get into the habit it gets much easier. The same routine is important for you. I have learned that if I get up at the same time every morning and go to bed at the same time I have a much better day not only in the gym but also at work. It is a proven fact that the less sleep you get the higher insulin and glucose in your blood making for lousy metabolism for burning off the stomach fat.
5. Avoid too little water. I know that the avoid idea on this one is a stretch but it had to match the other four. You should be drinking at least 64 ounces of water each and every day. This should take place regardless if you are exercising that day or not. You need the water to flush your system of all the toxins and other trash you will find as your workouts break down the fat and your metabolism burns those unwanted calories. Water also helps you to digest the food you ingest and carries the nutrients to your muscles. Hey if your urine is a dark yellow you are not getting enough water you want it to be very very light yellow and clear is better.
So the bottom line is the best way to lose stomach fat is to avoid the things listed above and to put together a good nutritional and exercise program that helps you to lose that awful belly fat.

Foods To Eat When Pregnant & Know The Pregnancy Foods To Avoid
December 19, 2009 – 2:34 am
Pregnancy is a very important time for the health of your baby because the quality of the food you eat during this time is what will determine his health in the future. So, if you are interested about what foods to avoid and what foods to eat when pregnant please do continue reading, for this article will provide you with all the information you need.
The biggest mistake you can ever do when you are pregnant is to eat raw or undercooked meats, fish or poultry. So if you are the kind of person that likes to eat sushi every now and then, pregnancy is not the time to do so. Raw and undercooked meats and seafood should be completely avoided because they can contain dangerous bacteria such as salmonella and listeria. Listeria can cause blood poisoning and infection, while salmonella poisoning is also serious for the pregnant woman.
Other pregnancy foods to avoid are deli meats such as hot dogs and luncheon meats unless they are reheated to steaming hot. Deli meats can contain listeria.
Recommended foods to eat when pregnant always includes seafood, as it is considered a healthy food source, rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and other essential elements. However be aware that you have to avoid certain fish types such as swordfish, king mackerel, shark and tilefish, because they contain a high level of mercury. The safe types of seafood are shrimps, salmon and tuna, although you also need to moderate their intake as well.
Another food you must try not to eat when pregnant is liver, and this is because it contains very high levels of vitamin A which is considered a harmful vitamin when taken in large amounts.
Raw eggs are a pregnancy food to avoid because they may contain salmonella. Try to avoid the foods that contain raw eggs as well, examples are mayonnaise, hollandaise sauces and caeser salad dressing. Soft cheeses such as brie, feta and panela should be treated with caution because they can be made from unpasteurized milk; however you can eat them if they are labeled as pasteurized.
Washing fruits and vegetables is always advisable, but it is specifically important during pregnancy. Wash your fruits and vegetables thoroughly with running water and a little soap before eating so you kill the bacteria gathered in them.
Of course it should be completely obvious to avoid caffeine, cigarette smoke, alcohol and drugs. Please keep in mind when deciding the foods to eat when pregnant that everything you eat and drink will pass through the placenta and your baby will be drinking and eating the same foods with you. So, if you are drinking a glass of wine, your baby is drinking it with you, and while your adult body may be able to handle the alcohol and cigarettes, your little baby cannot, and this can lead to physical defects, brain damage, miscarriage or even stillbirth.

Strategies to Avoid Emotional Eating
December 19, 2009 – 12:13 am
We all know what can happen. We get ourselves on a diet, losing weight, feeling good about our health and appearance, and then, bam, something happens in our lives and we reach for the goodie bag. We get stressed about work, about our finances, about family and the holidays. And it’s so easy to find comfort in food, especially stuff that’s not so good for us. However, there are strategies we can use to avoid emotional eating.
First off, one of the biggest culprits in emotional eating is stress. When we are stressed, we eat to cope. Thus, finding effective ways to combat stress will reduce our chances of binge eating. As many studies have shown, daily exercise reduces stress, ridding the body of chemicals that produce stress reactions. Just 10 or 20 minutes a day of vigorous exercise can lead to a less stress-filled life. Then, not only are we less likely to engage in emotional eating, the exercise will burn off calories as well.
Another cause of emotional eating for many people is boredom. You sit around the house, watching television or surfing the internet, and to give you something to stimulate yourself, you head to the refrigerator. Yet a healthier and more productive reaction to boredom is to find a new hobby or activity. Getting involved in volunteering or joining a sports or gaming club takes your mind off eating and gives you people to spend time with.
Having people around you to have fun with is a great way to avoid emotional eating. These friends or family members can also act as a support group in your efforts to stop overeating. Supportive friends will encourage you to stick with a diet and exercise plan, and can probably even be convinced to exercise with you. You can also keep each other strong in times of stress, lending a listening ear instead of a trip to the kitchen.
Being mindful of how and when you eat is important too. Sometimes we are not conscious of what we eat and why, and instead tend to eat on autopilot. We come home from a busy day of work, and we pop open a tub of ice cream without considering why. Did something unpleasant happen at work that we are trying to smooth over by emotional eating? If we are mindful about why we might engage in emotional eating we can better keep ourselves from relying on it as a crutch.
One last strategy to avoid emotional eating is to break the cycle of food and guilt that is so often at the center of this problem. You eat because you’ve had a hard day and aren’t feeling too good about yourself. But then, you feel bad about yourself for overeating! Key to breaking this debilitating cycle may lie in being nicer to yourself. Know that sometimes you will slip and eat too much. When this happens, pat yourself on the back and say you’ll do better the next day. You’ll feel better about things and less likely to succumb to emotional eating.
