3. YOUR pH LEVEL IS TOO ACID.

When your pH is alkaline on average, it is nearly impossible for a virus to make you sick. On the pH scale of 1 through 14, 7 is neutral. Alkaline is above 7 and acid is below 7.

Your pH will commonly vary between 6.6 and 7.35 pH. When you drop below 7, you are becoming acid and your resistance to disease is greatly reduced. If you are prone to outbreaks, this alone will often activate an otherwise dormant herpes virus.

Your tissue oxygen levels continue to drop the more acid you become. These are perfect conditions for the herpes virus to successfully replicate.

Avoid acid causing foods such as white flour, sugar and carbonated drinks. Eat more green vegetables. Cabbage and asparagus are top choices for this. Also, many people keep their pH levels alkaline by using kits available for this purpose at most good vitamin outlets.

Chewing gum is a type of confection traditionally made from tree sap, like chicle that comes from the sapodilla tree native to Central and South America. Natural chicle is a type of rubber that softens as it warms in your mouth. Like a mouthful of rubber bands, the chicle doesn’t dissolve when you chew it.

Nowadays, for reasons of quality and economy, most chewing gum is made from an artificial man-made chicle, or synthetic rubber known as polyisobutylene. You should know that polyisobutylene is also used to make adhesives, agricultural chemicals, fiber optic compounds, caulk, sealant, 2-cycle engine oil, paper, and it’s used as a gasoline/diesel fuel additive. You’ll be having so much fun you won’t even be thinking about the calories you’re burning. Other fun suggestions are rock climbing, hiking and hula-hooping. Any activity that you’ve been meaning to try should suffice.
  2. Change up your idea of a fun afternoon. If dinner and a movie is your idea of a perfect date, you’ve got to be more creative if you’re serious about weight-loss. Buttered popcorn, soda and high calorie dinner certainly aren’t going to help you reach your goals. Instead consider going for a hike and a picnic. You’ll get some fun physical activity and you can control the amount of calories you are eating by packing a nutritious lunch.
  3. Start gardening to lose weight and eat more nutritiously. You’ll have fun and burn calories digging in the earth and you’ll also be far more likely to spruce up your dinner with some vegetables because they’ll be conveniently located in your backyard.

The First Time I Used a Neti Pot to Relieve Sinus Infections

Have you ever heard of a Neti Pot? 

Up until recently, I sure hadn’t.  Kind of a crazy name, but I read somewhere that it could be used to help eliminate sinus infections, and to help prevent other common cold type sicknesses.  I looked into to see if it was for real, and I had to try it for myself.  

I took a gander online and saw that these Neti pots were commonly sold at health food stores.  I went to my local health food shop and looked for the Neti pots.  When I found them they looked kind of silly.  It was a ceramic type of pot, about the size of a coffee cup, and it had a long skinny snout the swooped upwards.

I decided it was twenty bucks that was worth investing to see if it really worked as advertised.  I also needed to buy some pure salt to use with the rinsing.  The instructions said to fill the pot with lukewarm water, and add in a small scoop of salt.  The salt comes with this small plastic scooper, so it was easy to apply.

I tilted one side of my head off to the side and put the end of the pot’s snout to my nose.  I could feel the lukewarm water go inside my nose, and up my sinus cavity.  Then it started to really burn, I mean it was like the worst ice cream headache I have ever had!  Then water began to pour out of my open nostril.  The instructions said to switch sides when the Neti pot was half empty.  So, I switched to finish the rinse.

I did this Neti pot rinse treatment for about two weeks, and felt relieve almost immediately after the first time I used it.  I don’t know if this will help prevent common sicknesses in the future, but in the short term it has really helped me.

Chronic pain is defined most simply as pain that does not go away. It can be caused by an injury, by nerve damage, or by illness, and can occur in any part of the body. Chronic pain can range from mild to severe, but it is constant. Being in chronic pain can make it difficult to live a normal productive life.  Many people who experience chronic pain resort to medications to help make life bearable. Unfortunately, many of the medications commonly prescribed for chronic pain are highly addictive. This means that people can be in pain and also suffering from addictions to these pills. Some of the most commonly prescribed, and most addictive, pain medications are oxycodone, codeine, vicodin, and morphine.

Oxycodone is a narcotic used to treat moderate to severe pain caused by fractures, arthritis, and cancer. It goes by brand names such as Percoset, and OxyContin. Oxycodone is a highly addictive pain medication. Many people begin taking it to manage pain after an injury or accident, then find that they are addicted. Because oxycodone dampens the brain’s responses to pain, people find that they need more and more of it to get the same level of euphoria and pain relief.  When taken as directed, oxycodone can cause headaches, nausea, and dry mouth. Overdoses can cause seizures and coma.

Codeine is another opiate commonly used as a pain medication. It is also frequently used in cough medicines. Because codeine is highly addictive, many people find themselves “hooked” without realizing it. Although codeine is only available by prescription, it is possible to become addicted to cough syrup containing codeine. Many people who are addicted to codeine take it along with alcohol, which multiplies its negative effects on the body. Sometimes people get codeine as part of a prescription for dental procedures and accompanying pain. When someone notices the relaxing effects on both pain as well as one’s stress levels, it can be used as another way to deal with daily problems rather than to get more permanent and lasting solutions that are natural.

We also observe commercials on television all the time that show us ways to relieve pain, improve depression, get a better night’s sleep and deal with daily aches. This starts to train the mind to look at prescription pills as ways to solve our daily problems and not explore natural means. 1. Eat organic. Pesticides, herbicides, etc. poison the soil, water, air and your body. They are linked to contributing to serious health problems including cancer, depression and central nervous system disorders.

2. Use non-toxic and natural household cleaning products. Most everyday cleaning products are very harmful to your health. Baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, lemon and vinegar are great alternatives and can be used for just about anything.

3. Wear only natural clothing fibers and organic clothes if possible. Synthetic fibers and non-organics are treated with high levels of formaldehyde and even petroleum. About $3 Billion is spent on pesticides for cotton fields each year worldwide, with over 600,000 tons of pesticides and chemical fertilizers on the US cotton fields alone.

10.
